MONICA
Monica is a Registered Sports and Remedial Massage Therapist who has been practicing in a clinic on the Gold Coast since 2006.
She has studied a Bachelor of Physical Education at a Women’s College in Japan and is always interested in how the body works. Experiencing a shoulder injury from competitive swimming led her to study a Diploma of Remedial Massage and Advanced Diploma of Health Science Australia.
Monica has worked as a Sports Massage Therapist at many sporting events such as; World Triathlon Championship “IRONMAN” in Kona, Hawaii in 2007 and 2008, Commonwealth Games 2018 on the Gold Coast. She has been lecturing at TAFE NSW, interprets Jeff Murray’s (Director of Sports Massage Sydney Olympics and Paralympics) Manual Therapies' seminars throughout Japan, and promotes high-quality post-graduate training courses while still undertaking further training herself.
Her style of Remedial Massage is to not only look at the symptoms but focus more on the cause for long term improvements. She does this with a combination of methods, including; Fascial Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Deep Tissue Massage, Joint Mobilizations, and Muscle Energy Techniques. She tries to approach to the structural deviations as well as muscular imbalances.
Also, Relaxation Therapeutic Massage is offered. Using rhythmic, flowing movements help you calm your body and mind, allowing you to destress and unwind. This helps to boost blood circulation and improve productivity – helping you get a better night’s sleep.
